Hello everyone, this is a quick blog post offering help and guidance on renewing your APN certificate in Intune. I also wrote a blog post on adding an APN's certificate in Intune. As we all know, an APN's certificate is required for enrolling Apple devices in Intune. You can refer to this link to understand more about the Use of an APN's Certificate in MDM
Let's review the process for renewing the certificate of an expired APN in Microsoft Intune. You can find the token details in the connector status within Tenant Administration. If the token has expired, it will be displayed as being in an unhealthy status.
Step 1: Access the Microsoft Intune admin center by signing in https://intune.microsoft.com/. Choose Devices, click on Enrollment, and select Apple from the page.
Step 2: Click on the Apple MDM push Certificate to view the current status of the certificate, including details such as the number of days until expiration, last synchronization date, the account used to set up the app's certificate, subject ID, and more.
Step 3: Click on the "Download CSR" button to download a certificate signing request, which must be uploaded to APN's portal to download the APN's certificate.
Step 4: Click on "Create your MDM push Certificate," which will redirect you to the Apple sign-in page. Sign in with the same account you previously used, then click on "Renew."
Step 5: Choose the file by selecting the CSR files downloaded in Step 3. Click on upload to renew the certificate, then download the new certificate and save it to your local storage.
Step 6: Please provide the email address associated with your account, then proceed to upload the certificate downloaded in Step 5 by clicking on the upload button.
Step 7: Once the upload is finished, you will be able to view the updated information.
Conclusion
Ensuring the smooth management of your Apple devices in Intune involves a vital process of renewing your APN certificate. By carefully following the provided steps - verifying the expiry date of your current certificate, creating a new one, and integrating it into Intune - you can uphold the efficiency and reliability of your device management system.
