What is Apple Business Manager?
Apple Business Manager is an online platform created to help administrators or organizations manage devices like iOS, iPadOS, MacOS, and Apple TV. Organizations can procure apps and books for distribution to devices and access features like Apple Managed ID, Federated Authentication, Device Enrollment, Content purchasing, and integration with MDM solutions like Microsoft Intune, Mobile Iron, and others.
To work with ABM the devices should be running the below OS
iPhone devices: iOS 7 or later.
iPad devices: iPadOS 13.1 or later.
Mac devices: OS X 10.9 or later.
Apple TV devices: tvOS 10.2 or later.
There are two ways to onboard devices to ABM
Devices bought directly from Apple, Participating Apple Authorized Resellers, or network/cellular carriers can be enrolled in ABM. Regardless of where they were bought, existing devices can be added to ABM using the Apple configurator. You may also inquire with the reseller about adding existing devices purchased from them.
Initially, we must add or authorize the reseller in ABM. For more details, please refer to this blog Manage Resellers In Apple Business Manager
